Itz not YOU! It's the PPD

It's hard being a new mom so I'm sharing this, albeit almost 17 years after my entry into motherhood, with the hope that someone may get the help/answers she didn't know she needed.
I didn't realise, until last year, that THIS was what I was experiencing in my first year of motherhood. I chalked it up to my new job (challenging), my not being a good mom (why does he cry all the time?!), lack of sleep (the baby won't sleep!) and breastfeeding, while really good for the baby, is also very draining - literally and figuratively. Add to that mix a husband who worked long, tiring shifts, resulting in my being a "single" mom, and you have the perfect mix for this condition. But there's no shame or shaming here. It happens and knowing what's happening is the first step towards getting the help you need. If you know of someone who may be going through Postpartum Depression (PPD) please share this with her.
